Our weaving studio is near Kalona, a small Amish community in Southeast Iowa also known as "The Quilt Capitol of Iowa". We
have been weaving and selling baskets since 1985. We offer three types of chair caning: hole to hole, pressed cane and splint seat weaving.
Our handwoven baskets are made from reed and styled with a rustic flare. They will be right at home on your ranch, in your mountain cabin, or at your weekend hunting lodge. We incorporate deer antlers into many of our baskets.
(Both naturally shed and harvested deer antlers are used)
Willow, leather, fiber, beads and feathers are also added to many of our one of a kind styles.
We offer demonstrations in basket weaving and chair caning for Historical Events, Pioneer Villages, and Reenactments. We have won awards for our demonstrations and enjoy traveling and sharing our knowledge with others who are interested in watching us weave and cane.
